Art Bank Spoken Word: Poetry and Cake
Poetry and Cake attracts a spectrum of themes from humorous to quirky, spiritual or serious. It’s an enjoyable rollercoaster, a ride of emotions, an evening of undeniably high vibes!
Amanda warmly welcomes both poets and the audience. Names are picked out of the magic hat for the order of the night, and for a sprinkle of spontaneity.
The ever-popular atmosphere is exceptionally open-hearted, inclusive, fun and uplifting, with active participation from lively performers.
Poetry and Cake was born out of Amanda’s love of both poetry and cake.
She began Poetry and Cake at Jack the Falafel on Gloucester Rd, Bristol, in 2022, she now runs it at Timo’s in Glastonbury on the first Sunday of every month. She’s very excited to bring this poetry night to the Art Bank!
Amanda’s passion is to raise the profile of spoken word and to give newcomers and seasoned writers and performers, alike, a supportive platform.
Amanda’s a published author and a Bard of Ynis Witren (Glastonbury). She’s been organising and hosting poetry and music events for 15 years.
Come and enjoy this nurturing, inspiring poetry event from 7-11pm, with spoken word beginning at 8pm.
Eat cake and express yourself or imbibe the wonderful spoken word offerings from local performers!
